This was an art test I did for Neversoft.
Applicants were required to model an old west-type building
one would find around the turn of the century. Wrongly
or rightly, I tried to go the extra mile and model a whole
street scene rather than just one building.
I first tried to duplicate the light you'd see on an overcast
day just before the sun had completely set. Very gloomy
and almost no shadows due to the very diffused and faint
light.
While I liked the result, some have said that it looked
a little too dark. So I reworked the lighting to emulate
a brighter, more colourful sunset scene.
