What do you do when you move to a new town without a car and find out that the busses don't run after 5:30 p.m. on weekdays and not at all on weekends?

Well, aside from using every swear word in the English language and inventing a few new ones (because hey, I have the time), I ended up spending my weekends and free time doing this.

It all started with an image in my head of a staircase winding around a stone pillar and then just grew from there. I also wanted to see if I could achieve enough realism to put photos of real people in my model and have it look somewhat believable.

The problem was if I put people wearing everyday clothes in these images, they'd look pretty out of place in this fantasy-type scene. So, because I'm kind of obsessive and I also had the time (see above rant), I decided to make some costumes out of the highest-quality Wal-Mart fabric I could buy for under fifteen dollars.

Special thanks go to my Vicarious Visions Inc. work pals for having the patience to pose in these get-ups and especially the ladies who provided their own clothing for this project, (which probably had something to do with my tailoring skills - or lack thereof).
